Process antistatic agents

These treatments manage electrostatic charge associated with moving polymer particles during polyolefin polymerization. Review static-related agglomeration, catalyst adhesion, sheeting and fouling.

Liquid treatments are available for slurry and gas-phase production. Selection depends on reactor configuration, catalyst system, resin grades and the operating issue. Carrier compatibility and addition arrangements also require review.

Internal antistatic additives

Internal additives are incorporated into polymer materials during processing to develop antistatic behavior. Candidate chemistry is assessed against the base resin and intended application.

Documented applications include polyolefins and selected styrenic polymers. Compounding and masterbatch evaluation should consider dispersion, additive interactions, appearance and finished-material requirements.

  • Material formulation: base polymer, processing route, additives, end use and target antistatic behavior
