Amine-based ingredients and gas-treating solvents are selected for defined absorption, neutralization and formulation duties. Confirm the available product grade and supporting documentation for the intended application.

Choose the chemistry around the process or formulation. A gas-treating solvent and a neutralizing component should not be assumed to have the same selection requirements.

For gas treatment, review the feed composition and the existing absorption and regeneration system. For formulations, consider the target pH, compatibility and the other ingredients in the blend.
