Understand the handling conditions
Pumping, filtering and transferring low-conductivity fuels can generate electrostatic charge. Conductivity additives support charge dissipation through the liquid as part of a wider static-control program.
The review starts with the fuel and handling system. Grounding, bonding and operating controls remain necessary; additive treatment does not replace them.
Establish a representative baseline
Measure untreated fuel with a method and instrument suitable for the application. Record the sample temperature and handling conditions, and consider whether laboratory results represent the fuel at the point of transfer.

- Other additives, intended end use and applicable fuel requirements
Evaluate the treatment response
Cestoil evaluates candidate treatments in representative fuel samples, considering the complete additive package. The immediate conductivity response is only one part of the assessment.
Follow the response over the relevant storage or handling period. Changes during transfer, contact with equipment or mixing with other fuel batches may require a further check at the point of use.
Control sampling and interpretation
Use appropriate clean sampling equipment and record the time between sampling and measurement. Contamination or inconsistent sample handling can distort the comparison.
Agree the acceptance criteria for the actual fuel and destination requirements. A conductivity test method does not, by itself, establish a universal pass level for every fuel or handling system.
Plan introduction into the fuel system
Confirm compatibility, mixing and metering arrangements before routine treatment. Keep a record of the fuel batch, treatment and conductivity response so that changes can be investigated.
