Combustion Improvers
Fuel-treatment options evaluated for combustion-related operating challenges in boilers and other fuel-fired equipment.
Discuss your application
Establish the combustion baseline
Begin with the fuel, burner condition, atomization and available operating data. Soot formation or incomplete combustion may involve several causes; treatment selection should be considered alongside the plant’s operating adjustments and maintenance program.
Match the formulation to the delivery system
The portfolio includes oil-compatible and water-compatible combustion improver options. The appropriate formulation depends on the fuel, available injection arrangement and the location where the treatment needs to act.
Evaluate compatibility with the existing fuel and other additives before a plant trial. Specify the formulation and delivery conditions for the intended equipment.
Evaluate a controlled trial
Agree on the measurements that will determine whether the treatment meets the site’s objective. Compare results at similar load and fuel conditions, and record burner or operating changes during the trial.
- Fuel consumption and useful heat or power output
- Combustion observations and relevant flue-gas measurements
- Deposit observations and cleaning requirements
- Treatment consumption and reliability of the delivery system
