Silicone Oils

The CS Sil portfolio includes polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) fluids in different viscosity grades. They are considered for uses such as polishes, mold release, slip and processing aids, and selected industrial fluid applications.

Viscosity is one part of the selection. The intended surface, formulation, delivery method and operating conditions also affect which grade is appropriate.

Silicone oils are not water-soluble. Aqueous formulations normally require an appropriate emulsification approach, with compatibility assessed in the finished blend.

Evaluate spreading, surface appearance or release behavior against the application objective. Material compatibility and end-use requirements should be checked for the selected grade.
