Tall oil fatty acids

Pine-derived fatty acid feedstocks for industrial synthesis and formulation, including resins, surfactants, metalworking fluids and specialty chemical intermediates.

Discuss your application

A feedstock defined by composition

Tall oil fatty acids contain predominantly oleic and linoleic acids. Their composition is relevant to esterification, alkyd resin production and other chemical conversions.

Rosin acids and unsaponifiable components also matter when defining a feedstock. Review them with acid value, color and handling requirements for the selected grade.

Industrial application routes

Use areas include alkyd resins, surfactants, industrial cleaners, flotation agents and metalworking fluids. Tall oil fatty acids can also serve as intermediates for corrosion inhibitors and oilfield additives.

Selection depends on whether the fatty acid is used directly or converted into an ester, soap or another functional ingredient.

Review the process and formulation

Start with the intended reaction or blending step and the properties required downstream. Evaluate compatibility and processing behavior in the complete system.

Share the application, current feedstock, rosin-content requirements and relevant color or flow constraints to establish a practical basis for comparison.

Discuss product selection

Share the application and operating or formulation requirements. We can provide the relevant product data sheet and safety data sheet for a selected grade.
