The application challenge

Fuel formulators may need friction control alongside deposit control. These functions depend on different additive components, so the friction modifier and detergent package need to work within the same finished-fuel formulation.

The product’s role

FM90 uses fatty acid diethanolamide-based chemistry to form a protective film on metal surfaces. This reduces friction and helps protect engine components against wear.

Friction reduction can support fuel economy, engine power and acceleration. The response depends on the engine, operating conditions and complete fuel formulation; use a detergent package suited to the fuel for deposit control.

Plan an application evaluation

Start with the gasoline or diesel composition, existing detergent package, proposed blending route and the friction or engine-performance targets you want to evaluate.

Check blend stability and compatibility with the actual fuel and other additives. Agree a suitable comparison under the intended operating conditions, and use the current PDS and SDS to plan dosing and handling.
