Northshore MS9264

Northshore MS9264 is an iron oxide-hydroxide solid medium for gas-phase H₂S removal in a suitable fixed-bed adsorber. It is considered for natural gas, shale gas, renewable gas and biogas where the inlet load and required outlet concentration can be defined.

The application challenge

Gas streams may need a defined H₂S outlet target before further processing, transfer or use. A solid-media system requires a vessel and bed configuration matched to the actual gas flow, inlet H₂S concentration, temperature and pressure. The medium is a consumable: outlet monitoring and a changeout plan are part of the design.

Northshore MS9264's role

The iron oxide-hydroxide medium contacts the flowing gas in a fixed bed to capture H₂S. It does not require liquid scavenger injection into the gas stream. Northshore MS9264 is for gas-phase service; it is not a liquid-hydrocarbon scavenger or a mercaptan-treatment claim.

The available PDS describes a supplier-reported operating range, but some supplier notation and performance test conditions require confirmation before design. Ask Cestoil for the current data and a project-specific review rather than treating a published figure as a guaranteed outlet result.

Plan the evaluation

  • Provide inlet H₂S concentration and variability, gas composition, flow, temperature and pressure.
  • Define the required outlet H₂S target, measurement method and expected service cycle.
  • Review vessel dimensions, gas distribution, pressure-drop allowance and how the outlet will be monitored for breakthrough.
  • Plan media handling and changeout under the current SDS and site procedures.

Bed quantity and service life should be calculated for the site, then checked against measured inlet and outlet H₂S during operation.
